The Alvenslebenstollen in Burglahr, a mining gem, is a water solution tunnel of the Louise mine, which was built from 1835-1864. It was named after Albrecht Graf von Alvensleben (former Prussian Minister of Finance).
You can experience a piece of history along the dead straight course of a total of 1546 metres, 400 metres of which are accessible to visitors: There are Gedingepflöcke, Lachter plaques documenting the construction progress and evidence of the later blasting work with black powder.
