One of the largest churches in the Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld congregation administration.

Detailed description

The church in Birnbach was assigned to the collegiate foundation of St. Cassius in Bonn in 1132. The current building (build around 1200, ev. parish church) belongs to a group of simple Romanesque rural churches. The extended parish belongs to the imperial county of Sayn-Hachenburg since 1662.
